Unfortunately with the passage of time comes a loss of accurate information concerning the Branch and its initial formation.  However, it is generally accepted that the Badminton and District Branch was formed in 1923.

The then Duchess used her not inconsiderable influence and energy to oversee construction of the Badminton Memorial hall.  The hall quickly became the centre point for not only memorial and remembrance services, but for all village community activities.  The original hall still stands, although a recent fire necessitated the need for significant rebuilding, and now acts as the Badminton and District Branch's meeting place.  The Branch has always been fortunate to have the Dukes of Beaufort as our President, and to have access to the beautiful church adjoining Badminton House.
